Elections & Voting

The City of Schertz holds General Elections each November to elect members of the City Council and Mayor as terms expire. The Mayor and City Council members serve staggered three-year terms. The City Secretary's Office administers municipal elections in accordance with the Texas Election Code.

Election-specific information, including candidate filings, notices, polling locations, sample ballots, and results, will be posted on the Current Election page when an election is scheduled.

Municipal elections are conducted by the county elections offices serving Schertz residents:

  • Bexar County
  • Comal County
  • Guadalupe County

Depending on where you live within the city limits, you will vote through your respective county elections office. Election Day polling locations, early voting locations, and voting hours are determined by each county and will be provided on the Current Election page during election season.

The City Council is made up of the Mayor and seven City Council members who represent the residents of Schertz. To learn more about the current Mayor, Council members, meeting information, and responsibilities, visit the City Council page.
