National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides an excellent opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Held on the first Tuesday of October (Texas and select areas celebrate on this day due to the excessive heat), National Night Out is an excellent opportunity to meet your neighbors and local first responders and strengthen community ties. Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, emergency personnel visits, exhibits, and more. This annual event aims to promote community involvement in crime prevention, strengthen police-community relationships, create neighborhood partnerships, and heighten and enhance awareness.
