The Schertz-Seguin Local Government Corporation Board of Directors recently announced the promotion of Amber Briggs Beard from Assistant General Manager to General Manager. Briggs Beard has been serving as the General Manager in an interim capacity since September 2018 following the retirement of Alan Cockrell who served as SSLGC General Manager for 13 years.
Briggs Beard who joined SSLGC in December of 2015 as Assistant General Manager, worked for several years in operations management and business development in the oil and gas industry and previously held the positions of Business Manager and Developmental Services Manager for the Cibolo Creek Municipal Authority. Currently, she serves on the Regional Water Alliance, the City of New Braunfels Partnership Committee, and is a member of the American Water Works Association, the Texas Water Utilities Association and the American Society for Public Administration. She obtained her B.S. in Business Management from Tarleton State University where she graduated Cum Laude and where she is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree.
The SSLGC is a partnership between the cities of Schertz and Seguin producing and supplying water to the two cities as well as the cities of Selma, Universal City and to the Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation.
