Extreme Book Nerd Challenge

The Extreme Book Nerd Challenge is a year-long reading challenge that will encourage participants to read throughout the year, try new genres, or read subjects you wouldn’t normally pick up on your own. Registration is open on Beanstack and reading begins February 1, 2019.

2019 Extreme Book Nerd for Kids                                                                  

 *In order to participate in Extreme Book Nerd for Kids, readers must be 12 years of age or younger and be independent readers. Anyone 13 or older will complete the regular Book Nerd Challenge.

How to Participate

  • Sign up online or in person between January 1, 2019 and January 31, 2019.
  • Read 25 books in 12 months. Match the books you read to the reading categories (view the reading list here and the kids’ list here).
  • As you read, log your books and check off the categories in Beanstack.
  • Complete your reading log on/before January 31, 2020.

Contest Rules

  • This challenge is open to Schertz Public Library patrons.
  • You cannot use the same book for multiple categories.
  • Participants must read 25 books to complete the challenge.
  • To count a book, you must finish it by January 31, 2020.
  • You may count any book you read for other programs (e.g., summer or winter reading).
  • You have to complete the challenge in order to win the prize.

All 25 categories must be checked off by January 31, 2020, in order to be eligible for the reading challenge prize. Registration will remain open throughout the year, but the 25 books must be completed by the end of January 2020!
