Animal Services
The Schertz Animal Services Division of the Police Department enforces the City’s Animal Ordinance and Texas Laws relating to animals, provides an animal adoption program, picks up and shelters stray, sick and/or injured animals, and investigates animal cruelty and neglect.

Hal Baldwin Scholarship
The City of Schertz has established the Hal Baldwin Scholarship to encourage high school seniors who are residents of Schertz to consider public service as a career path in education, local, state and/or federal government.

Special Events
The City of Schertz has a history of hosting community events that make everyone feel welcome. From the variety of events held in the Music & Movies in the Park series to the annual 4th of July Jubilee, residents and visitors have many opportunities throughout the year to enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere with some great entertainment.

Schertz Young Leaders
The Schertz Young Leaders program, a seven-month curriculum, provides high school students an opportunity to learn how city government operates: budgets, departments, special events, economic development; how non-profit groups benefit the area, and how community partnerships benefit residents. Schertz residents who attend area high schools, public-private-home schooled, may apply for the program.
