Scott Larson was sworn in on November 21, 2016 to the Schertz City Council. Scott graduated from Taft High School in San Antonio, Texas. He was active in sports, playing water polo and swimming. His senior year he was the district champion for Academic Decathlon and placed 4th overall in his division in the State of Texas.
After high school Scott attended the University of Texas at San Antonio until he pursued an opportunity to own and run his own small business. He was the owner operator of a frozen dessert shop in Ingram Park Mall. After ten years of experience managing in the food service industry Scott sought to expand his skill set and entered into the financial services sector as the Vice President of Marketing for a small business located in Laramie, Wyoming. Scott continues to work in financial services and currently works for The Hartford Insurance Group in San Antonio.
Role as Councilmember
Scott is excited to serve the citizens of Schertz and is committed to making sure our city continues to be the best city in Texas. His focus on council is on making sure our infrastructure is maintained and updated to anticipate future growth, ensuring our Police and first responders are given the tools necessary to perform their jobs safely and protecting the mission of Randolph Air Force Base. Scott also believes the city has a responsibility to its citizens to be good stewards of their resources, keep taxes low and aggressively pursue economic development that will reduce the tax burden on citizens and property owners.
Scott and his wife, Stacy, have a two year old daughter and attend Oak Hills Journey Fellowship Campus in Selma. In his free time Scott enjoys spending time with family, playing basketball, reading and watching movies. Scott and Stacy enjoy visiting the library with their daughter, Hannah, who loves story time and playing at the Playscape.
