Doing Business with the City of Schertz
The following information is relevant for any vendor, contractor, etc. that is interested in doing business with the City of Schertz.
The City of Schertz does not maintain a vendor list or Bidders List for projects. Any company legally authorized to do business in the United States is eligible to do business with the City of Schertz.
The City of Schertz operates on a decentralized basis. Purchases under $50,000 are handled individually by each department. Departments are required to obtain three (3) or more quotes for any purchase exceeding $3,000.00 that is not made via a Group Purchasing Organization. This process includes notifying a minimum of two (2) HUB vendors within Guadalupe County on a rotating basis. HUB selection is done via the State of Texas Centralized Master Bidder’s List (“CMBL”)
Purchases exceeding $50,000 that are not made via a Group Purchasing Organization or Sole Source Justification require a Formal Procurement. These procurements are handled by the City’s Purchasing Office. Procurement notices are posted in the NorthEast Herald Newspaper and on the City of Schertz Website.
Vendors have the ability to sign-up on the City website to receive alerts via Text or Email when a new project is posted.
Upon award of a contract or acceptance of a quote, the City will request a W-9 to create a Vendor Profile within the City’s System of Record.
