Lieutenant Kelly Kallies began her career with the Schertz Police Department in 2007 as a patrol officer. In 2008, she was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit where she received extensive training in investigative related fields. She completed the Criminal Investigator Certification Program through Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy (AACOG). Lieutenant Kallies promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2011 and continued her assignment in the Criminal Investigations Unit as a supervisor. Added to her daily investigation responsibilities, she also served as the Evidence Technician and later the Evidence Technician Supervisor. Lieutenant Kallies achieved and held an Advanced Evidence Technician Certification through Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians (TAPEIT).
In 2016, Lieutenant Kallies was the pioneer of the Polygraph Unit within the Schertz Police Department. She is the first State Board Certified Polygraph Examiner for the Department. She is a member of multiple accredited polygraph associations for educational and professional growth.
In 2018, Lieutenant Kallies was appointed to Lieutenant and currently serves as the Support Services Commander.
Lieutenant Kallies maintains a Master Peace Officer Certificate. Lieutenant Kallies holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Tarleton State University.
