the mother of all dances. Join the Schertz 50th Anniversary
Committee, the Northeast Herald Newspaper, and the Schertz
Parks and Recreation Foundation as they take the town
on a stroll down memory lane! Featuring the rockin' sounds
of Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88s, dancing
competitions, prizes, food, a cash bar, and the first
ever Grackle Coronation, the event is open to everyone
but tickets are limited!...

Team Schertz
raised over $17,000 of the $41,000 total at this year's
annual Randolph Metrocom Relay for Life. Held May
2-3 at Steele High School, special congratulations need
to be extended to the Schertz Fire Department which raised
over $8,700, and to Brittany Losey, Miss Schertz, for
bringing in over $1000. Great Job Team Schertz!

YMCA to Manage City of Schertz
Swimming Program
The City Council of the City of Schertz approved a resolution on April 15, 2008 authorizing the city to enter into an agreement with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio for management services of two municipal swimming pools. The YMCA will manage both Pickrell Park and the Northcliffe Park swimming pools.
The two City pools will open on Memorial Day Weekend May 24, 2008 and remain open until August 24, 2008. Hours of Operation will continue to be the same at both pools. Pickrell will be open from 12 Noon to 7:00 pm. Pickrell will be closed for cleaning on Tuesdays. Northcliffe Pool will be open from 12 Noon to 7:00 pm and will be closed for cleaning on Wednesdays
The
YMCA of Greater San Antonio is currently hiring Lifeguards
for the Schertz Pools. All persons interested in
applying for lifeguard positions should go to the YMCA
website at www.ymcasatx.org.
If you do not have access to the website or if you are
interested in information concerning lifeguard training,
swim lessons, pool reservations, pool parties, and other
