Schertz Residents to Line Streets to Honor Fallen Soldier

LCpl Brandon T. Lara made the ultimate sacrifice for out country July 19th while supporting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. The Marine's remains will arrive at Randolph Air Force Base on Sunday, July 26th and depart for the Zoeller Funeral home in New Braunfels at 10:00 AM.  The procession will head from Randolph AFB through Schertz down FM 78 to FM 3009 and then to IH 35.  It will then up IH 35 to New Braunfels.  The Schertz Police Department  will be providing traffic assistance for the procession. 
 
Citizens plan to line the roadway and salute this brave soldier as we bring him home to rest. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the Zoeller Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Monday, July 27, 2009, at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. graveside service at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, with full military honors.
