The City Secretary's Office is responsible for the preservation of city records, including but not limited to: minutes, ordinances, resolutions, agendas and other legal city documents. The preservation of these records is in compliance with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Records Retention Schedule. In addition to keeping city records the City Secretary's office prepares the City Council agenda and keeps record of and takes minutes of the council meetings.

OFFICIAL NOTICE OF DEADLINE TO FILE APPLICATIONS FOR PLACE ON BALLOT

Please be aware that the term of office for the May 8, 2010 General Election and Special Election are for Mayor, Councilmembers of Places 1, 2, are up for re-election. The term of office for these three positions is two years and is from May 2010 to May 2012. A Special Election will also be held for the unexpired one-year term for Council Place 4. The Schertz City Council approved a new fee schedule as part of its FY 2009-2010 budget.  The new fees will go into effect on Oct. 1, 2009. Checkout a copy of the NEW FEES at www.schertz.com
