  3. Schertz Fire Rescue Engine #3 Housing Ceremony

    April 19, 2018, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM @ Schertz Fire Station #1

    The community is encouraged to partake in a Housing Ceremony where a spray down from the fire hose and wipe down will mark the official welcoming of the new Engine #3. Bring the kids to help hose down the engine! Everyone will take home a souvenir towel (While supplies last) Hot dogs and cake will be provided. The celebration of the arrival of a new piece of apparatus has been a source of pride for fire departments for more than 100 years. Once the truck receives its symbolic wash, fire department members-with the mighty help of the community- will move to the front of the truck to [push] roll the apparatus back into the bay.   4. Community Shred Day

    On Saturday, April 21 make plans to come out to Schertz City Hall (1400 Schertz Parkway) between the hours of 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM to shred any sensitive documents you may have. Shredding of this free event is professional provided by the shredding company, Shred-It. Please note this on-site shred event is for paper documents only; hard drives or any other materials will not be able to be shredded. To help ensure a quick drop-off of documents, we ask that you remove them from binders and take off any binder clips prior to coming out.   5. Movie in the Park - Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

    April 21, 2018, 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Cypress Point Park

    The Lorax himself invites you to gather in the park to celebrate trees and the environment! The next Movie in the Park will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at Cypress Point Park, 5526 Cypress Point. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax will be the feature film and will begin at sundown.
