Burn Ban in Effect

burnban

The City of Schertz has implemented a burn ban across the City on outdoor burning. The burn ban will extend until further notice.

With the dry winds and high heat, the vegetation is drying out and becoming a dangerous situation if a fire was to occur. Residents are advised to use caution with any type of heat source outside. Under the burn ban, no open flames are allowed outdoors to include previously permitted controlled burns, trash burning, campfires, and other unattended open flames. Residents are permitted to barbecue with an open flame as long as the grill has a lid and is set off the ground. Welders are encouraged to use a spotter for any outdoor welding and keep a water source nearby.

If you have any questions, please contact the Schertz Fire Department at (210) 619-1300.
