In order to provide adequate water service to the fast-growing southern Schertz area, it is necessary for the City to construct a one-million gallon elevated storage tank and associated distribution water lines in the Southern Schertz Watershed.The Corbett Elevated Tank Project is located along the future extension of Ray Corbett Drive approximately 1,000 feet beyond where the current road ends. The project was designed by Ford Engineering. The scope of the project includes: construction of the one-million gallon composite elevated storage tank, installation of the new pump station and flow meter, completion of all site work, installation of the access road to the tank site, installation of all electrical controls and instrumentation, installation of associated distribution water mains.  Landmark Structures was selected as the contractor for the project.

Construction Start: March 2019
Construction Completion: Summer 2020
Cost of Construction: $4,682,000.00
Funding Source: Capital Recovery Water and the Water and Sewer Operating Fund

UPDATE - august 2020

  • The electrical and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) work has continued through the month of August.
  • Delays in the electrical and final pump station work delayed the initial start-up to late this month.
  • The tank is expected to be filled for the first time early next month.
  • The onsite paving was completed and work on the site fence has continued throughout the month
