East Live Oak Ground Storage Tank painting

As part of the critical maintenance schedule for the City’s water storage tanks, each tank needs to be painted approximately every ten years. Both interior and exterior repainting is done to help maintain structural integrity as wells as extend the life of the tank. The 1.5 million gallon ground storage tank at the East Live Oak tank site is being repainted by M&M Tank Coating Company. 

Construction Start: Early May 2019
Construction Completion: Mid Summer 2019
Cost of Construction: $348,500.00
Funding Source: Water and Sewer Fund

UPDATE -  June 2019

  • The interior walls and roof have been sprayed with the intermediate coat and finish coat and have passed the necessary testing.
  • The interior floor has been sprayed with the prime coat, intermediate coat, and 60% of the finish coat.
  • The existing exterior coat has been removed. 
  • The exterior has been coated with the prime coat, stripe coat, and 60% of the finish coat.
