Records

The Records Section is staffed by civilian employees assigned to the Department. These employees are responsible for processing and maintaining files related to all incoming police reports. These reports include adult and juvenile incident or offense reports, crash reports, arrest reports, and fingerprint files. The Records Section forwards all report copies to any necessary Courts or agencies, handles statistical requests, and compiles Uniform Crime Reports (UCRs) for submission to the State.

The Schertz Police Department Records Section also provides the public with copies of requested public information. If a copy of a report or request for information is needed, the Records Section is open Monday through Friday.

Requesting Reports

When requesting a copy of an incident or offense report, please allow up to five business days from the date of the incident for the report to be filed and available for release. Crash reports are given up to 10 business days to be completely investigated and filed from the date of the incident.
